Hey Bear 👋

This post might be a little disheartening to some, but I’ve genuinely enjoyed every moment I’ve spent here on BearBlog.

After a lot of thought and consideration, I’ve decided to make atebear.pages.dev the primary home of ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ Ate Bear Blog.

I want to own my content and have full control over my little corner of the web.

My site is open source, decentralized, free, and doesn’t track its visitors. It also means I only need to maintain one site instead of juggling multiple homes for the same blog.

Another site update today…

I created some banners, cards, and logos for this blog with the help of ChatGPT.

I don’t think I’ll use all of them, but somehow I’ve started treating Ate Bear Blog like it’s a real brand. I’m just going with the flow at this point. 🤭

I didn’t plan to tell anyone about this blog. Honestly.

I thought I should maybe at least talk about it to Mama Bear, but I’m too shy 🤭

But 4 days ago, I randomly and excitedly told one of my sisters in Christ — my (un)official disciple — about it 😅

The moment I told her, I immediately regretted it 🤦‍♀️
I didn’t know how she would react to it.

But thankfully, her response was very positive. She was really supportive about it.

We're Still a Bear Family ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

I’m still very sad about it.

My Bear family is no longer attending our church.

It’s been 2 weeks and 3 days since Papa Bear told our pastor that they would no longer be attending church with us. I won’t disclose or mention the reason here. Thank you for understanding.

With that, Mama Bear, Gummy Bear, and Little Bear also left with Papa Bear.

I wasn’t there when everything happened. On May 10, I didn’t attend church because I had a stomachache.

My Bear-Day ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

I celebrated my “bear-day” this month in a forest near a river during Holy Week. I was with my bear family—and it also happened to be the first day of our church’s annual family camp.

It was an unusual birthday for me. I was away from my real family, and there was no internet or phone signal, so I couldn’t contact them. But even so, I enjoyed every moment with my church family and my bear family.

In our church community, I started giving people animal call signs.
Some call me “bunny” 🐇
others call me “ducky” 🦆

But in one specific group,
we became a family of bears 🐻

There are five of us:
Mama Bear, Papa Bear, Baby Bear, Gummy Bear, and Little Bear.

I was “Baby Bear”.

I honestly don’t remember when it started.

Mama Bear called me by my nickname so often that she sometimes forgets my real name.

Last night, I was working on a project for our “future” media team using our church laptop. I had files stored in a separate Gmail account dedicated to that project, and I needed an easy way to transfer them across devices.

At first, I used Google Sites. It was convenient—quick to set up, easy to access, and the links weren’t too long to remember. Everything seemed fine.

Then the internet cut out.
